Dear Folks –
Tom asked:
>Does anyone know where to find the details for the crew station in MT COACC?
Dunno, COACC has always baffled me.

I’d put that down as an error. Presumably this is the MT version of the Stuka, so there should be 2 crew (pilot and gunner).
>My review of the design process indicates that the pilot is probably in a complex cockpit.
I’d have said a simple cockpit. He doesn’t have advanced electronics (radar, ECM, infrared sensors, or low-light vision, as per p 29, para 1) and he has Simple controls (as per the stats on p 25).

Agreed. And it’s not a “turret” like the one at the back of a Lancaster. That’s why the stats say it’s a “flexible” mount, which allows it to be much smaller and weigh a lot less.
I haven’t run the numbers, but do these changes fit into the design?
*** BTW, the CREW/PASSENGER ACCOMODATIONS is a reprint of Striker. But I’ve noticed a few more pieces of errata: in Striker, a Simple cockpit and a Crew station both weigh .10 tons, and a Complex cockpit weighs .25 tons. Cockpit armor and an ejection set add .10 tons each. The decimal places for all of these options are missing from COACC !!! ***
