oooh, ooh, I think that might be a first for me (benig notified of the BHQ suck).  An achievement I rate up tehre with anything on my CV (save, maybe, giving Michael Palin his library tour when he joined the Royal Geographical Society).  THank you.  THis and other two message quite made my day.

You're ok and can maintain uniqueness.  I tend to go by Timothy if not tc.  With the usual rider: call me what you like, but don't call me late for dinner.  :-)

Actually, that reminds me of an ObTrav.
I've noticed that Europeans will almost invariably as, on introduction, whether I'm happy for Timothy to be shortened to Tim.  In the UK, almost invariably, people will assume you're happy with Tim.

Visiting a new world, the PCs find that their names are being 'adjusted' according to local custom, in ways that are irritating/weird/confusing.
