Technical Services Team Leader. Florida Gulf Coast University, located in
southwest Florida, seeks a creative professional to manage Technical
Services in a highly automated environment with complex outsourcing
relationships and team-based management. This is an exciting opportunity to
contribute to a new institution in the State University System that is
committed to using the latest information technologies for teaching and
learning. Responsible for acquisitions, cataloging, and processing; policy
and procedure development; writing specifications and monitoring vendor
performance; training and supervising staff; and project management. Member
of Library Leadership Team, participates in faculty governance and
university committees. Requires ALA accredited Master's degree in Library
Science and minimum years experience as described below. Must possess
initiative, ability to manage technical services and numerous concurrent
projects, excellent supervisory skills, proficiency in computer
applications, ability to work in a collegial and collaborative manner;
strong interpersonal skills; effective problem-solving skills; and the
ability to meet challenging situations with flexibility and tact. Experience
with automated library systems and electronic resources cataloging or
acquisitions. Position available August 2000.  Appointment at faculty rank
and salary commensurate with experience on a 12-month, multi-year basis:
Assistant University Librarian: $30,000 min with 3 years experience;
Associate University Librarian: $32,000 minimum with 5 years experience;
University Librarian: $34,000 minimum with 8 years experience. To apply,
