They are two completely different services so can't really be compared with
each other. JSTOR is back issues (generally all but the current five
years) of what are considered standard academic titles. The list of titles
included is growing. Academic Ideal are titles from Academic Press. I
think you get access to the latest several years but it is unclear as to
whether the publisher has a committment to maintain an archival site on
into the future.
If you want a "service" you might look at aggregators such as OCLC's
Electronic Journal Center, or one operated by Blackwells.
