I am responsible for a column of conference/institute/workshop reports
for
Serials Review and am looking for a reporter on the basic serials
cataloging workshop described below. If anyone who is attending this
workshop is interested in writing a report on it for Serials Review,
please contact me directly to indicate your interest. I will be happy
to
provide more information upon request.
Serials Review is a quarterly, peer-reviewed journal. Articles
published
include topical bibliographic reviews; case and research studies devoted
to specific serials management issues; and descriptions of new
developments in publishing, automation, and standards. A number of
regular
columns feature interviews, debates on controversial topics, book
reviews,
and meeting reports.
Thank you!
Susan

BASIC SERIALS CATALOGING (NASIG) This two-day workshop
provides the basic principles of serials cataloging for original
and copy cataloging for print and electronic serials. The
course focuses on the elements contained in the CONSER core
record, as well as problem-solving and decision-making relative
to serials cataloging. All materials are based on the CONSER
Editing Guide and CONSER Cataloging Manual. This workshop is
offered in conjunction with the Serials Cataloging Cooperative
Training Program (SCCTP). Under the auspices of the CONSER
Program, the SCCTP provides authoritative training materials and
trained serials experts to enable broad-ranging education in the
field of serials cataloging.
