Hello Everyone,

A month ago, I solicited opinions on microform scanners. I had more
people asking for a
summary of responses versus actual responses.

2 libraries are using the Canon MS400 scanners and like them

2 libraries are using the Minolta SP2000 scanners and like them

The opinion seems split between the two.

We decided to give both a trial run. It was the consensus of the
library staff and the few
students who were in on the trials that we should go with the Minolta
Micro SP2000. We
found the Minolta easier to use, the controls were more clearly marked
and we liked the
way the carrier for the film and fiche were set up (they worked together
versus on the
Canon where they worked independently.) Also, we got the Minolta for
$2,250 less than
the Canon.

Let me know if you have any additional questions.
