Technical Processing
The New York Public Library
Science, Industry and Business Library

An excellent opportunity to process science and business materials
including searching, cataloging and on-line maintenance in the world's
largest public library devoted to science and business.  Catalog and
maintain SIBL's open shelf collections, mainly serials, including U.S.
government documents.  Participate in public service and present
instruction classes.

To qualify, candidates must possess an ALA accredited MLS and at least
two
years of professional experience in a research library or similar
institution. Cataloging experience using Integrated Library Systems and
cataloging utilities in a cataloging or processing environment.
Experience supervising and training support staff.  Undergraduate degree
in science or business preferred.  Experience with computers, word
processing, spreadsheets and on-line databases.  Knowledge of Western
European languages preferred.

Starting salary $34,055 and excellent benefits.    Please send resume
