Position Notice
Head of Technical Service

 Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the general direction of the Director of Libraries the Head of
Technical Services is responsible for overall management and supervision
of
cataloguing and acquisitions. The Head will work with integrated library
systems to develop improved procedures and new services and will
collaborate to set priorities, plan and implement and evaluate policies
Responsibilities include hiring, training and evaluating staff.
Reference
and collection development responsibilities may be assigned. Will
participate in library consortial programs.

 Qualifications:
Graduate degree in Library Science; five years of progressively
responsible
managerial technical services experience. Through knowledge of OCLC,
MARC
formatting, AACR2-98, LC rule interpretations, subject analysis, and
authority control. Extensive experience in original cataloging; database
management. Knowledge of cataloging electronic sources and WWW design.
Experience with Innovative Interfaces, Inc. is preferred.
