Module 31, Remote Access Serials has just been updated on the CONSER Web
site and the revised version will be included in the next update to the
CONSER Cataloging Manual. The major addition to the module is a set of
guidelines or "rules of thumb" for applying the single record option for
electronic versions.  These were developed by a CONSER Working Group last
spring after discussion at ALA. The online version of Module 31 is
available at: http://lcweb.loc.gov/acq/conser/module31.html.

Also to be included in Update 10 to the CCM is Module 34, Legal Serials,
prepared by Rhonda Lawrence (UCLA) with the assistance of Ann Sitkin and
John Hostage of Harvard.  This will be a major new tool for legal
catalogers.  The printed update should be available later this fall or
early winter.

Thanks to all you worked on the single record option group, to Rhonda,
Ann, and John, and to Les Hawkins for updating Module 31!
