Subject: Workshop on MARC Format for Holdings

Hello everyone,

In response to questions about the Holdings Workshop:  It has already been
given once in the East (Atlanta), a year ago, and drew a large audience.
Mary Ann and I are also giving a shorter-format workshop for a special
library group later this fall.

An organization or even an individual library could sponsor this or any
other kind of workshop.  Someone has to do the work of making an agreement
with presenters, arranging the venue, and finding sponsorship for the
initial outlay of expenses (which should eventually be recoverable).
NASIG's Continuing Education Program has been very good in co-sponsoring
this program with other organizations.

We hope that other holdings experts will also want to share their
expertise, because it sounds like there's lots of demand out there.
