Head of Library Systems

Keene State College is a public liberal arts college of the University
System of New Hampshire with an enrollment of 5000 students.  The College
has been recognized as a leader in American higher education for its
commitment to its mission, broad-based strategic planning initiatives, and
cohesive sense of community.  Historic Mt. Monadnock overlooks a campus of
168 acres in the picturesque City of Keene (population 22,000).  Located in
the southwestern corner of New Hampshire, Keene provides traditional New
England charm, close proximity to abundant four-season recreational
attractions, and easy access (2hrs) to Boston, Hartford, and Albany.

Keene State College is currently seeking a Head of Library Systems
responsible for the supervision, operations, policies, and procedures of the
Library Systems Office.  Responsibilities: Provides leadership and
coordination of library technology. Participates on the Administrative Team,
which works collaboratively, collegially, and creatively in the overall
management of Library and Instructional Technologies (libraries, media, and
academic computing). Manages the technology infrastructure of the library
including: the integrated library system (INNOPAC), desk-top computing,
LAN-based services, UNIX and client-server platforms, Web based services and
networking.  Oversees the daily operation of the Keene-Link system (shared
with Keene Public Library). Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and
four years of experience in the information technology field; ALA-accredited
MLS degree preferred.  Working knowledge of library automated system
software and operation including: familiarity with computer and peripheral
hardware, telecommunications, local area networks, CD-ROM technology,
PC-based applications software, MARC formats.  Familiarity with MS Office
and NT software and UNIX operating system preferred.  Starting salary range:
$39,120-$44,420.  Review of applications will begin September 30, 1999 and
