Dennis,
I expect everyone who responds will list at least some of the following:
CONSER Cataloging Manual
CONSER Editing Guide
Serials Cataloging Handbook: an Illustrative Guide to the Use of AACR2R
and LC Rule Interpretations / Carol Liheng & Winnie S. Chan. 2 ed.
Chicago : ALA, 1998.
Good luck--there is a need for those with an interest in serials
cataloging.

Subject: Best Resources for Serials Mgmt and/or Cataloging
I am nearing completion of my MLIS degree from the University of Denver
and want to specialize in serials work after graduation (I am already
doing serials check-in at our library). I am interested in getting
suggestions from list participants about what you find to be the best
resources (books, serials, or electronic) that could help me focus the
general cataloging and collection management courses I have taken to
serials-specific situations. Since my program has no courses dealing
specifically with serials issues, I'm on my own, sort of, with your help,
hopefully!
Please respond to my e-mail address below, and if there is sufficient
response, I will post a summary back to the list. Thank you!
