Hi -
On the May 1999 issue look on page 138 in the fine print alongside
the picture
On the June 1999 look on page 120 in the same place
On the next issue it is found at the bottom of page 100 in the small
print.
In the perfect world, all the publishers are going to print the
volume and issue numbers in the same place on all issues! I wish.

middle of the middle line on page 100 for the July 1999 issue. In fact,
that's where the vol/issue number always seems to be. Tiny print though!

Volume and number of Life Magazine are usually (but not always) buried in
the middle of a fine-print masthead on the last (or near the last) page.
So:
July 1999 is v.22 no.8 (look on p.100 below the picture)
June 1999 is v.22 no.7 (look on p.120 to the right of the picture).
I can't find our May issue, but I expect the enumeration is about in the
same place.
