COLLECTION DEVELOPMENT LIBRARIAN: Tenure track, faculty position. Responsibilities performed under the general direction of the Assistant University Librarian for Technical Services & Coordinator for Collection Development: coordinating systematic assessment of the library collections; serving as liaison to selected academic departments; supervising the collection development assignments of other librarians; coordinating licensing for and access to web-base products; coordinating weeding projects, gifts review and replacements; working a regularly scheduled reference desk assignment of up to 6 hours per week; assisting in allocating and monitoring a materials budget of approximately $2 million.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: ALA-accredited MLS/MIS or an equivalent degree; 3 years academic library experience; excellent oral and written communication skills; current knowledge of collection development issues in academic libraries as well as quantitative and qualitative collection analysis techniques; ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative relationships with colleagues in the library, around campus and in the community; excellent supervision skills, including the ability to delegate and work in team situations.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Second master's, preferably in business or the sciences; experience with fund accounting, approval programs, and vendor practices; Spanish language skills. Salary: $34,000.
