There has been an ongoing discussion on the SLA-PAM listserv about
this problem.  Springer has had a terrible time keeping up with
access problems, to the point that we've joked about their having
a limited number of access ports and they're rotating access among
all of their subscribers.  The following person has been able,
sometimes, to get access restored, but not always and not
consistently:
