Cataloging Now!
An ALCTS Institute on the PCC Core Record
April 16, 1999, 8:15 am (registration) to 5:00 pm
Queens Borough Public Library, Flushing Branch
Flushing, New York

Sponsored by the Association for Library Collections & Technical
Services
(ALCTS), a division of the American Library Association, and the
Program for
Cooperative Cataloging (PCC). Co-sponsored by Nylink (formerly
SUNY/OCLC)
and the Queens Borough Public Library.

Intended for catalog librarians, catalog department and technical
service
administrators, and public service librarians, the one-day program
will
focus on new "core standards" developed by the Program for
Cooperative
Cataloging (PCC) as a means of increasing the pool of acceptable
records
available for copy cataloging.

Presenters will introduce the concept of the core record, and there
will be
separate breakout sessions for catalog librarians, administrators,
and
public services librarians. Presenters are Beacher Wiggins, Library
of
Congress; Glenn Patton, Michigan
State University; Michael Kaplan, Indiana University; and Kate
Harcourt,
Columbia University.

Registration fees for this presentation of Cataloging Now are $125
for ALCTS
or
Nylink (formerly SUNY/OCLC) Members, $175 for ALA Members, and $225
for
non-members.
