POSITION AVAILABLE - John F. Kennedy University, Orinda, CA
Library Assistant - Serials and Reserves, Robert M. Fisher Library, John
F. Kennedy University, Orinda. Regular, fulltime position, 37.5 hours
per week, Monday - Thursday 10:00 am - 6:00 pm, Friday 9:00 am - 5:00
pm. Salary range: $9.75 - $12.24 per hour plus medical, dental, sick
leave, retirement eligibility and tuition waiver benefits.
The requirements of this position include a bachelors degree and some
library experience or an equivalent combination of education and
experience. Further requirements include Windows proficiency, accurate
typing, good organizational skills, demonstration of meticulous
attention to detail, excellent written and oral communications skills,
the ability to multi-task, and the ability to handle a large volume of
repetitive work. Experience in serials management on the Innovative
Interfaces' system is desirable. Sufficient mobility and vision to read
spines and shelve items from 3 inches to 6 feet above the ground are
required, with or without accommodation. The ability to work in a
buildinng without air conditioning is required.
The responsibilities of this position include management of the Fisher
Library serials collection and database including processing, shelving
and statistics. Additional responsibilities include ordering for the
main and two branch libraries and sharing the maintenance of the
quarterly Reserve Book collection.
The successful candidate will possess an outgoing, energetic manner and
the ability to work as a team member and work well with a diverse adult
constituency.
