The long-running ALCTS Acquisitions Section preconference,
The Business of Acquisitions, will be held in New Orleans,
June 24-25, 1999.

This year's theme is "Advancing Acquisitions:  Services,
Standards, and Skills."  Topics will include consortia, ILS
vendors, and acquistion of electronic products.

You may register for the preconference as part of Annual
Conference registration.  Information about this and other
preconferences is available on p. 114 of January 1999
_American Libraries_, and you may register as part of Early
Bird and Advance Registration.
