Subject: Selling last year's periodicals

At my library, we keep back volumes of many periodical titles on microfilm.
When the microfilm for a title arrives we pull the old paper issues and
sell some, dup exchange others and discard some. Anyway, my question is :
what is considered a good price to get from a back issues vendor for a
complete volume? Is it common practice to get the same (small) amount for
any publication regardless of original purchase price? I'd appreciate
any insights anyone has to offer, including the best vendors and prices
offered and even contract negotiation techniques.

Thanks much,
