Advertising Age International Betsy Luce 08 Sep 1998 18:03 UTC

I just subscribed to this listserv and was wondering if someone
could help me out of a very puzzling situation.
Recently, we received an offer to "renew" Advertising Age
International. Since we never ordered it in the first place, I did
some research and found that we had been receiving it as a
"supplement" to Advertising Age since early 1995. At some point
(the salesperson on the phone said a couple of months ago, but I
think it was in November or so of 1997), the journal changed its
status as a supplement to a separate entity.

Our problem is: when did this actually happen? Why didn't they
inform us? How can they justify an offer to renew when they never
had subscriptions before?

It seems that although the journal was under the guise of a
supplement for a long time, it had its own staff internationally.

If you can answer any of these questions, or if you have come
across this problem also, I'd love to know about it.
