SLMQ becomes Knowledge Quest --sort of, anyway Anita Gordon-Gilmore 03 Sep 1998 15:56 UTC

Some of you may be aware of this, tho' I haven't seen it discussed, so
it is worth noting. KNOWLEDGE QUEST, JOURNAL OF THE AMERICAN ASSOCIATION
OF SCHOOL LIBRARIANS began publication last fall. I'm not sure on all the
details, as I have 26:4 in hand and we have yet to receive 26:1-3,
however, it has picked up the numbering of SCHOOL LIBRARY MEDIA QUARTERLY.

A note within the publication information in KQ 26:4 reads: "School
Library Media Quarterly is now available in electronic format only at
http://www.ala.org/aasl/SLMQ"

Sure enough, SLMQ is alive! It no longer has numbering, rather each
article has a Board Approval date. We can access the full text, and have
not yet even been asked to register. It is a good e-journal, but the
connection to the new title is interesting (to say the least). I just wish
they had made a clean break, even to give the new online journal its own
identity.

By the way, the table of contents for KQ 26:4 is available from the
AASL home page, also. No mention of 26:1-3 is made. The back issues button
is not operable, but I have faith that they will arrive, now that we are
"official" subscribers.

If anyone has any clarification or more information on this, I would be
glad to hear.
