TITLE: Associate Librarian II, Assistant Head, Catalog Management Dept.
LOCATION: Catalog Management Department, Technical Services Division
CATEGORY: Associate Staff, Full-Time (12 Month Appointment)
SALARY: Commensurate with experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervise and manage the staff and activities of the
Projects and Serial Adds Units; serve on the Department's management team;
contribute to the planning, developing, coordinating and implementing
catalog management policies, procedures, and work flows; maintain knowledge
of cataloging tools, standards, and trends.
QUALIFICATIONS: Required: ALA-accredited Master's degree in Library
Science. Working knowledge of at least one foreign language.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum one year professional experience in cataloging or
catalog management, preferably in a large research library; one year
supervisory experience; knowledge of AACR, LC classification, MARC format;
experience with the structure and management of online catalogs. Excellent
communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
BENEFITS: 22 days annual leave and 3 personal days; 15 paid holidays; 15
days sick leave. Employer contributes to health insurance and retirement
(State pension or TIAA-CREF); tuition remission.
