Subject: Washington Report on Middle Eastern Affairs

        An inquiry to the publisher revealed these interesting pieces of
information about their (mis)numbering of issues and volumes:

      1. They did not publish a volume 17:1; v.17:2 is the first issue
         of the new volume.
      2. Schedule of publication as of 1998 will be a calendar year
         January to December - instead of their previous May (or April or
         March) to April (or March or June).
      3. Volume 16 contains 5 issues; volume 17 will have the usual 8
         issues.  The volumes will consist of 8 issues.

    I hope this information is useful and will save phone calls to the
publisher for you.
