ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION AVAILABLE
POSITION: Technical Services Librarian
QUALIFICATIONS: MLS degree from an ALA accredited library
school. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Two or
three years cataloging and/or serials experience desirable.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Working in cooperation with the Technical
Services Director, provides active leadership in a team based
program with one other librarian and six technicians.
Responsibilities include: catalogs using OCLC, AACR2R, LC
subjects and classification, and the local VTLS online system;
codes USMARC holdings records; performs serial maintenance
functions; trains technicians; develops manuals using word
processing software; and liaison with Government Publications
Dept.
RANK AND SALARY: Commensurate with experience; entry level
salary is $27,000 for 9 months. Summer contract possible.
Non-tenure track faculty appointment.

ENVIRONMENT: Northeastern State University is located in
the historic town of Tahlequah in scenic Green Country, Oklahoma.
The area, located in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains, is

in nearby Tulsa. NSU enrolls approx. 9,000 students in 1
professional, 13 graduate degree, and 63 undergraduate programs.
