Seeking serials cataloging/OCLC LDR trainer
Lyn Elizabeth M. Martin 16 Oct 1997 15:39 UTC
Greetings from sunny (well, this morning, at least!!!) Seattle, serials
colleagues--
I am in the midst of setting up a variety of cataloging and serials
training sessions for my technical services staff--cataloging, serials,
acquisitions librarians and paraprofessionals.
Serials cataloging and OCLC LDR training is hard to come by in this area
(even from our OCLC network) and I think my staff would greatly benefit
from training from someone other than their boss!
I am wondering if there is anyone in the Seattle-vicinity or willing to
come to Seattle for one/two days to train 8-10 catalogers and
paraprofessionals in basics of serials cataloging and inputting OCLC LDRs
for LUNCH, PARKING FEES & _THE GLORY_.
SU is not a large institution and I (unfortuantely, like so many of us)
have no budget for travel or honoraruim. But, I would also be willing to
TRADE training sessions (if the location is commutable for me)--I am an
old rare books/manuscripts/archival and media/computer files/internet
cataloger and trainer......also lots of experience in how to write for and
get published in library journals......
Please reply to me directly, Lyn
