I just called the publisher of  AMERICA and they confirmed that a mistake
was made in the numbering of  the October 4, 1997 issue. It should be Vol.
177, no.9  not Vol. 177, no. 10.

They will number the October 11, 1997 as Vol. 177, no. 10.
