POSITION VACANCY NOTICE
POSITION: Assistant Professor (Acquisitions Librarian)
DUTIES: Direct the acquisition of library materials, including
monographs, serials, periodicals, microforms, CD-ROMs, and on-line services.
Maintain library holdings records. Supervise binding. Assist in
developing policies and implementing procedures for the acquisition and
processing of incoming materials using the library's automated systems.
Report to the Collection Management Librarian.
REQUIREMENTS: Qualified candidate will hold a MLS from ALA-accredited
library school and an additional master's degree or doctorate; minimum
three years of professional library experience, preferably in an academic
library; knowledge of current library systems; working knowledge of AACR2
rules and MARC format; proven analytical and problem solving skills;
ability to work well independently and with others; demonstrated ability to
communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; and ability to meet
the responsibilities and requirements of a tenure-track appointment,
including research, publishing, and involvement in professional organizations.
SALARY: $29,931 - 40,440 depending on qualifications and experience.
