You might want to take a look at Marjorie Wilhite's article in the winter
1995 issue of _Serials Review_ entitled: "Templates: providing
structure for implementing NOTIS LSER module receiving records."
Marjorie discusses planning for implementation of a predictive system
in a large research library (The University of Iowa). Although we
were implementing a different predictive checkin system here at
Vanderbilt, we found her analysis of periodicity distribution in a
large collection of serials quite helpful.
