I would like to publically ask Mr. Schneider two closely related
questions, in the hope that Gordon & Breach will reply to SERIALST,

1.  What is Gordon & Breach's rationale for taking journal subscriptions
on a standing order basis?

2.  Why does Gordon & Breach expect libraries to place subscription
orders before the libraries know the publisher's best estimate of the cost
of that subscription?
