[ This message may be cross-posted to other listservs. I apologize
for any redundancy this causes for some subscribers. ]
I have been asked to investigate (for later dissemination to the
information community-at-large) the use of the WWW by serial, acquisition,
and collection development librarians in their management of serials.
A key to collecting this information will be input from such folk
in regard to...
o a ** brief ** description of their collection scope and
environment (type of primary user population, etc.), and
o a ** brief ** description of the respondent's position, and
o a list of url's employed, how and to what extent they are used
as well as an ** objective** evaluation of same.
We are all inundated with survey requests so I hope that they lack
of structure of this appeal (i.e, partial responses gratefully accepted !!)
might encourage some of you who would like to share your experiences to
date to do so.
For those of you who do respond, please indicate ** whether or not
your input is...
a) to be considered anonymous,and
b) whether any follow-up (if clarification is needed)
would be agreeable to you.
Thank you in advance for any assistance that you might be willing to
lend to this project.
PLEASE RESPOND DIRECTLY TO....
