Amen to the suggestion of teleconferencing.  Since we in Hawaii have that
long hop over the Pacific to get to even the nearest sites, we really
value tele/videoconferencing, especially with the possibility of
interaction, even if that has to be by fax.  Knowing that you are
participating in real time and that you can question the speakers or add
your comments makes the experience much more meaningful.  Just watching a
videotape is still a passive experience, like reading an article--useful
but usually not as vital and not as thought-provoking.
