I agree with Sarah's request as well.  My choice would be somewhere in the
southeast like Atlanta or Birmingham.  Since everyone wants the institute
held in their own region of the country, maybe teleconferences or videos
are worth taking a closer look at.

I get a lot of information on electronic serials issues by reading the
messages posted to SERIALST and other places.  In contemplating whether the
expense of going to Washington is justified, I wondered if what I might
learn at this institute would be so much more different or indepth than
what I have read on listservs, in journals, etc.  Please don't think I'm
dismissing the value of this institute....this was just another point I've
considered.  If it were closer or available in a less expensive way, I
wouldn't have any reservations about attending.   A couple of years ago I
attended an ALCTS serials institute in Atlanta on the integrated MARC
format and I think the proceedings were published later.  If so, would that
be the case with this institute?
