Andrew --

Subject: Question concerning special editions

...
What do YOU do with special editions (such as the recent "TIME"
special edition) when sending serials to the bindery?

-- We include special editions when binding. Some supplementary
material is not included -- such as issue devoted to special
meeting or convention with just dates and times of meetings and
travel information.
--
Where do YOU put it in the lineup when it is dated "Spring 1997"?

-- Would probably place after last March issue. For supplements
without date, or "supplement to specific issue", we bind at end
of volume.
--

What do YOU do when it's a different size than all the others?

-- We just send it to the bindery. Usually the size difference
has not been significant. I think if the size difference were
several inches I would probably bind the rest of the volume
with a note that special issue "Spring 97" bound separately.
--
Last time I only got one response and it said, "Yes, this is a
problem.

--
Hope this helps
