AUBURN UNIVERSITY POSITION VACANCY:
HEAD, Library of Architecture, Design & Construction:
The Head of the Library of Architecture, Design & Construction is
responsible for personnel supervision (3 staff), facilities oversight,
collection development, reference service, bibliographic instruction, and
liaison work between the main library and the College of Architecture,
Design and Construction.
QUALIFICATIONS: REQUIRED: An ALA-accredited MLS; strong
academic record; an academic background or work experience in one of the
following areas: architecture, building science, industrial design,
interior design, landscape architecture, community planning, art, or art
history. DESIRED: Experience in an academic library; ability to
communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff and patrons; and a
record of scholarly, professional, and research activity; supervisory skills.
SALARY/BENEFITS: The salary minimum is $35,000, higher with experience,
with appointment as Librarian II (Assistant Professor) or Librarian III
(Associate Professor); twelve-month appointment; eligibility for tenure;
participation in state teachers' retirement (mandatory); TIAA or other
additional voluntary retirement plans available; twelve days sick leave
per year; health/life/disability insurance benefits; and twenty vacation
days per year. POSITION AVAILABLE: September 1, 1997. Beginning date
is negotiable.
