DIRECTOR, TECHNICAL SALES,  AMERICAS

We're part of the fast paced publishing industry - a thriving serials
vendor with international prominence in the serials world - providing a
number of high tech services and technology to the academic, corporate
and medical library markets.  We're seeking a hi-profile electronic
information industry professional with knowledge of and entree into the
library/publisher communities who has demonstrated senior supervisory
and budgetary experience and who will be responsible ( working in close
co-operation with regional sales and marketing management ) for
planning, organizing, directing and achieving regional sales revenue
goals and accountability for the delivery and support of
technical/electronic services. Responsibilities include (but are not
limited to):

     *  Co - developing regional technical sales and service strategies

     *  Directing and overseeing technical product sales and
        technical/electronic services to existing and new market sectors
        in association with existing sales operations.

     *  Managing and controlling regional sales budgets and costs

     *  Managing and directing performance of technical sales staff; held
        accountable

     *  Coordinating and negotiating sub sales agent agreements ( where
        applicable )

     *  Overseeing implementation of training and support

Position requirements are as follows:  College grad with proven
sales/marketing background (MLIS preferred), minimum 6 years superior
technical electronic sales and customer service experience,
proven leadership skills and ability to think strategically and act
effectively - both independently and especially in association with
regional sales and marketing management; knowledge of and high profile
in both the library/end user and publisher communities/industries,
effective training and presentation skills, in-depth electronic product,
networking, Internet/WWW experience; as well as thorough knowledge of
the licensing, networking and pricing policies for electronic
information.  50% travel.
