Subject: Digital resources/licensing positions

I am writing on the impact of digital resources on serial
acquisitions, and am trying to get a sense of whether libraries
have redesigned positions or added new positions to cope with the new
demands created by digital resources. Here at MIT, for example, we have
a new position in acquisitions that is responsible for setting up trials,
negotiating licenses, monitoring compliance, and coordinating
implementation. I seem to recall seeing similar positions advertised,
as well as one with a title like "scholarly communications librarian"
to deal with the intellectual property issues.

I would *very* much appreciate it if folks out there who know of
other places where positions have been created or added could send me
a note, giving the job title and a rough description. I would be glad
to summarize for the list if people are interested.

Many thanks,
Ellen Duranceau
