 As promised, I can now tell you where to view the cataloging
 guidelines for electronic resources developed by VIVA (the Virtual
 Library of Virginia).  Start at this page for the background info,
 and it will also lead to the guidelines and a list of supporting
 resource references.

 Note that the guidelines include hypertext links to the OCLC
 Bibliographic Formats and Standards Manual.  This should help the
 beginning cataloger or others wishing to know more about the
 individual MARC fields.
