Subject: ALA SS CSSC meeting announcement

The ALCTS Serials Section Committee to Study Serials Cataloging
invites you to their meeting to be held on Monday, June 30,
from 2-4 pm in Room 206 of the Moscone Convention Center.

Reports will be given on CC:DA and MARBI activities at the
Annual meeting, as well as a report on events at LC, CONSER
and NSDP of interest to serials catalogers.

The agenda will also include four discussion topics: LC
Serial Record Division's adoption of core cataloging; what
options should be in the cataloging rules for creating a
single record regardless of physical format; how should the
rules reflect greater concern for user interaction with
catalog records; and, what rules should be added to cover the
variety of electronic serials that now exist. The Committee
would greatly appreciate your input on the last three topics
in particular as it examines ways to improve the rules.
