JSTOR invites applications for the position of
     Associate Director of Library Relations

     JSTOR is an independent not-for-profit organization dedicated to
     helping the scholarly community take advantage of advances in
     information technologies.  The Associate Director will assume the lead
     role in prospect management, including the identification and
     cultivation of potential JSTOR institutional participants.  Other
     responsibilities include overseeing continuing relationships with
     libraries in the U.S. and Canada, and conducting initial negotiations
     with libraries and providing assistance with contract management under
     the direction of JSTOR's General Counsel.  The position will involve
     extensive travel, with the Associate Director representing JSTOR at
     scholarly meetings of various kinds.  The Associate Director will
     report to JSTOR's Executive Director and will work primarily from the
     New York office.

     The ideal candidate would be an energetic, self-motivated professional
     with experience in the library community in fund-raising or sales.  A
     Bachelor's Degree is required; a professional degree is preferred.
     The candidate must have excellent writing and presentation skills.
