We have never kept the paper when the microform arrives.  In many cases
the microfiche comes quarterly so it is here almost as quickly as
it is indexed.  We have opted to cancel some paper subscriptions and
kept the microfiche editions, rarely finding that a problem. One
project we have implemented is to cancel expensive paper subscriptions,
keeping the microfiche subs, setting some money aside and if articles
are needed from current issues we don't have yet, we order them thru
CARL Uncover and pay for them from our savings.  Next year we are
looking at cancelling more paper subs and subscribing to full
text/full image databases, for more access to journals. Our
major problem with that is figuring out how to hook up equipment
to the printers to allow payment for the copying.
