Presenters needed for NOTIS session on serials and OPAC Betty Landesman 17 Mar 1997 16:04 UTC

This message is for people at NOTIS sites. It has been cross-posted to
NOTIS-L, SERIALST, and LIBREF-L - please excuse duplication.

I am moderating a session at the September NUGM meeting, entitled
"Addressing the Perils of Pauline Patron: Explaining Serials Records in
the NOTIS OPAC". I am looking for presenters - from serials and/or
reference - to talk about the aspects of serials records in NOTIS that
affect the OPAC display. Why do serials look the way they do in the OPAC?
What can we tell about a title from the OPAC display? What, if any,
choices do we have? Help demystify this topic!

I think this will be a very interesting session. It is on Friday,
September 26, 1997, from 3:15-4:30. Presenters get their registration
fees waived. If you are interested in participating, or can suggest
someone, please get in touch with me by Friday. Thanks!
