March 20, 1997, Westwood, MA--Vernon W. Cain, Managing Director, Information
Services Group, Dawson Holdings PLC, announced today the appointment of Dan
Tonkery to the position of President and Chief Operating Officer of Dawson's
North American Subscription Operations.  Effective April 1, 1997, Mr. Tonkery
will be responsible for Faxon's Massachusetts and Illinois Service Centers,
Faxon Canada, Ltd., and Turner Subscription Agency.  He will be based in
Westwood, Massachusetts.

Mr. Tonkery has held several high-level positions in the library services
industry, including President and CEO of Readmore, Inc., for ten years.  More
recently, he was partner and owner of TDT Associates, a library consulting
firm.  Prior to that he was President and founder of Horizon Information
Services, a CD-ROM publishing company, and earlier, he served as the Managing
Director of North America for The Faxon Company.

In addition, he holds a MLS from the University of Illinois and began his
career as a librarian with the National Library of Medicine.  Currently, he is
on the Board of Directors for the Council of Library Resources--a nonprofit
organization that issues grants to research libraries to solve industry-wide
problems--and is a Member of the Board and Treasurer of NASIG.
