     Greetings, everyone!

The ALCTS Serials Section Education Committee meeting will be held:

     Friday, February 14, 1997
     8-10 PM
     Renaissance Washington Hotel, Room 12

     Proposed agenda:

     1. Discussion concerning letter to be sent to library school faculty
     concerning recommended tools for serialists.
This letter that we discussed sending out at our last meeting
proved to be more controversial than we imagined. The concern was
about endorsing the CONSER Editing Guide and the CONSER Cataloging
manual. Pamela Bluh, and, perhaps, other members of the Serials
Section Executive Committee will be joining us to discuss this topic.

     2. Report on the ALISE Liaison Meeting from Linda Golian.

     3. Report about the Subcommitee on the preconference planning with the
     SS Acquisitions Committee

     4. Program ideas for 1998: Does the Committee want to plan a program
for the 1998 summer meeting? If so, what are possible topics?

     5. Topics for 1997 summer meeting in San Francisco.

     6. Other business

Please join us if you are interested in the education and training of
