We do the same thing here at Faulkner University.  We pretty much treat
anything with an ISSN as a serial and catalog it as such.  Our reference
sets that run as series are cataloged with a series record and then the
spine label on each volume reflects the call number for the set and the
volume number for that particular volume.  Hope this helps.
