We have not yet been able to resume our subscription which had been coming
through the Federal Depository Library Program, but there is some information
available on the situation with this title.

Wayne Kelley, Superintendent of Documents, said at the Federal Documents Task
Force Update at ALA Midwinter that this title and the NCI Monographs had been
sold to Oxford University Press in a secret agreement. He refused the option
of knowing the details of the agreement when told that he would not be able to
disclose the terms of the agreement between NCI and Oxford University Press.

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) wants people to become members in order to
receive their journal or monographs. According to their web page, membership
costs $100 for U.S. members and $150 for non-U.S. members per year. Program
information is available from the following web page,
http://wwwicic.nci.nih.gov/jnci/iapinfo.html
or by calling 1-800-NCI-7890 within the United States or 301-496-7600 outside
the United States

None of the 1997 issues are available at this writing from their web page at
http://wwwicic.nci.nih.gov/jnci/jnci_issues.html
