Okay, now that the legal matter of BHS is apparently over, will the
bibliographic records get straightened out? I notice that the records for
both the Liverpool (#4900237) and Glasgow (#35144224) editions have the same
ISSN. I suppose that while the matter was still in litigation it couldn't
be otherwise, since it wasn't settled which the "true" BHS was.

My heart tells me that since the Glasgow edition is the "true" BHS, #4900237
should be for Liverpool 1949-1995 and Glasgow 1996- , and should have
ISSN 0007-490X. The "new" Liverpool BHS should be in a new record and have
a new ISSN. But uniform titles could get very tricky here. Would the "new
Liverpool" BHS have a uniform title of Bulletin of Hispanic studies
(Liverpool, England : 1996)? (How about Bulletin of Hispanic studies
(Illegitimate ed.)?)

Perhaps "fairness" to the "true" BHS should be set aside for the sake of
clarity in the catalog records, and the editions should stay put in OCLC?

At the NASIG conference last summer, Regina Reynolds said that the UK ISSN
Center would be the place to resolve the cataloging problem. Does anyone
know what they are going to do about the ISSN for these? Will we hear
anything from them soon?
