GIFTS AND EXCHANGE LIBRARIAN: Working with two support staff, the Gifts
and Exchange Librarian is charged with the responsibility of planning,
organizing, supervising and evaluating Gifts and Exchange operations,
including entry of bibliographic records into the online catalog.
Reporting to the Head of Acquisitions, the G&E Librarian coordinates the
addition and processing of relevant materials with other library units.
The librarian develops and maintains strong relationships with donors and
alumni, book dealers, and library personnel. QUALIFICATIONS: REQUIRED -
ALA-accredited MLS; strong academic record; analytical and organizational
skills; flexibility in working with diverse personnel and procedures;
ability to interact effectively with a variety of people; aptitude for
bibliographic detail; ability to work independently; and excellent
communication skills. DESIRED: Experience with a bibliographic utility,
an automated, integrated library system, and word processing; cataloging
experience and a knowledge of a modern European language; evidence of
ability to meet criteria for tenure. Twelve-month tenure track position.
Benefits include 20 days vacation; 12 days sick leave; participation in
state teachers' retirement (mandatory) and TIAA or other additional
voluntary retirement plans available; health/life/disability insurance.
Salary $30,450 minimum, higher with experience. Application review
