FINAL ANNOUNCEMENT and CALL FOR PAPERS

Fourth International Conference
"Crimea 97"

"Libraries and Associations in the Transient World:
New Technologies and New Forms of Cooperation"

Sudak, Republic of Crimea, Ukraine
Holiday Home "Sudak"
June 7-15, 1997 (Professional Program - June 9-13)

Three previous "Crimea" conferences have contributed to the solution of
important intergovernmental problems of information exchange. They have
promoted the establishment of new, and the strengthening of existing
cultural and scientific contacts, and have furthered the advancement
of libraries and information technology in the global environment.

The "Crimea '94" and "Crimea '95" Conferences took place in Eupatory,
and the "Crimea '96" Conference was held in Foros, Republic of Crimea.
Each of these conferences has demonstrated the growing interest of library
and information specialists in this international forum. Illustrative of
this interest is the increased growth in attendance and participation
from 1994 through 1996:

          Participants Countries Papers Sections, Exhibitors

The Fourth International Conference will be held in Sudak, a beautiful
and tranquil locale on the Crimean Black Sea coast. The history of Sudak
dates to antiquity. It is a small Crimean town of unfailing charm, surrounded
by fantastic mountains crowned with picturesque ruins of the medieval Genoa
fortress. The Conference venue, the Sudak Holiday Home, is a complex of
seven modern buildings in a garden setting. The adjacent beach, some two
kilometres long, might well be the the best in the Crimea. Both the beach,
restaurants, and shops are within east walking distance from the Sudak
Holiday Home.
