Appalachian State University's library is undergoing a review of
serial vendors to service the majority of our almost 4,000 journal
subscriptions. We are a state-supported, comprehensive university
with almost 12,000 students, and our library uses Innopac as its ILS
system. We only use one major vendor for periodicals; our standing
orders are with a different vendor, and they are not being reviewed
at this time.

We are reviewing the following vendors:  Faxon (who we've used for
many years);  EBSCO; Readmore/Blackwell; and Swets North America.
Each vendor has visited the Library and has given us written responses
to questions. They have also given us names of librarians we may call
as references.

In addition, I am interested in hearing from anyone who has moved FROM
or TO one of the these vendors in the last 2 years, and whose library
is similar to ours in collection size and profile. I do not need to
talk with you if you are in a specialized library, or a really small
or large library.

Please contact me if you are willing to let me ask you my short list
of reference questions. ALL RESPONSES WILL BE CONSIDERED CONFIDENTIAL.
