"The Balance Point" -- Call for Topics

The new editors of _Serials Review_'s column, "The Balance Point," are
looking for input from the serials community regarding topics that would
be of interest.

"The Balance Point" is a forum -- included in each quarterly issue -- in
which several invited authors participate in themed discussion on current
serials issues. Past topics have included the economics of electronic
publishing, zines in libraries, exchange rates and the serials
marketplace, cataloging remote-access electronic serials, serials in
Eastern Europe, outsourcing, serials acquisitions and the Third World, the
future of union listing, and perspectives on firm serials prices.

"The Balance Point"'s new column editors are Karen Cargille, University of
California, San Diego and Christa Easton, University of Houston. Please
direct any ideas to Karen and/or Christa at the e-addresses listed below.
